It’s a proud moment for the mission : net zero team in announcing our client, DoubleTree by Hilton London ExCeL has achieved Gold accreditation with the internationally recognised, Green Tourism eco-certification programme.
Green Tourism is a leading independent standard that demonstrates excellence in the field of environmental responsibility, sustainable operation, and social impact for the hospitality sector.
We’ve been supporting the Green Team led by Richard Mackie, Jade Blasse and Navid Quraishi to achieve Green Tourism eco-certification. Why? Because positive environmental credentials are becoming increasingly important to leisure travellers and corporate bookers of meetings & events. Earning the supplementary Green Meetings award symbolises the commitment of DoubleTree by Hilton London ExCeL to sustainable development which is extremely attractive to potential customers and guests.
It gives the business a competitive advantage with a certified grading that sets them apart from hotels in London’s Docklands area without any accredited green credentials.
We will now help the Green Team to verify continual improvement in their performance by monitoring, measuring and reporting progress against the ESG KPI’s of hotel management company, Axiom Hospitality and owner, ADNEC Group in areas including:
- energy, waste and water management;
- with focus on community involvement;
- local food & drink supply chains;
- and social elements including employee welfare and authentic guest experiences.
