It’s a proud moment for the mission : net zero team as we announce our client STAY has achieved Gold accreditation with the internationally recognised Green Tourism eco-certification programme.
They continue to demonstrate excellence in the field of environmental responsibility, sustainable operation, and social impact.
The Green Team at STAY, comprising Jake Seage, Lavinia Ungureanu, Michael Fiala and Tem Tempest-Roe (pictured below) has introduced innovative green initiatives in recent months, which mark the beginning of a long-term commitment to sustainability.
Here are just a few of them:
- A partnership with iRecycle Waste Management Limited ensures 100% landfill avoidance whilst reducing CO2 emissions in the removal process via canal barges.
- Smart Green meters to monitor energy usage, coupled with CHP boilers and renewable energy tariffs across the estate
- Plastic reduction and biodegradable replacements within guest welcome hampers and amenities.
- Community initiatives to make a positive difference in the local area, including weekly foodbank donations, charitable donations and volunteer days.
In addition to helping STAY on the journey to achieving Green Tourism certification we will now help the green team monitor and report progress against environmental policy of the business in areas including energy, waste and water management, with focus on biodiversity projects, community engagement, local food & drink supply chains and social elements including employee welfare and guest experiences.
